The Year of Faith

THE ONE WHOM WE HAVE PIERCED
In today's celebration, with all our

My Dear Friends,

Next weekend we celebrate one of the great feast days in the Church's year - Ss Peter and Paul. Traditionally the annual "Peter's Pence" collection, which funds the charitable works of our Holy Father is taken up at this time. This fund allows the Holy Father to support victims of disaster, war, oppression as well as those needing emergency assistance.

The Pope, as pastor of the Church, is attentive to the material needs of the faithful, and in this way, through loving charity he casts Christ's love upon the world. The collection will be taken up after all Masses next weekend, please be as generous as you can.

Finally please note that there will be no mass here next Saturday morning as we are all invited to the Cathedral for the ordination of seven men to the priesthood. This is a truly memorable occasion for our Diocese and everyone is welcome to attend. Mass will be at 10.30 am. I will be there and even if you cannot go please pray for our new priests.

God Bless.
