My Dear Friends,

In spite of the recent floods in Lourdes, next weekend sees the departure of a large number of pilgrims from our diocese making their way to our Lady's shrine. They will see for themselves the devastation and will also be present when His Grace hands over a substantial gift to the Bishop of Lourdes to help with restoration.

As a parish we have contributed to that fund to the tune of some 1,000 - for which I am deeply grateful. However if you haven't made a contribution and still wish to do so, please do not hesitate to drop your donation in to Gillian at the Presbytery.

Whilst I'm away the Masses will continue as normal. This has only been made possible by the visit of Fr Williams Aso who comes back to the parish this week. Father will be here until the end of August, which will allow me to have a summer break as well, so do, if you can, offer him some hospitality.

Finally, when Fr Paul takes over as parish priest in September, he is looking to employ someone to take care of the laundry requirements of the presbytery. This post would also involve the washing and ironing of the large altar cloths. If you, or someone you know, is interested in this post, please get in touch.

God Bless.

MATRIMONY - THE NEXT GENERATION
