My Dear Friends,

At all Masses this weekend we will be addressed by Fr Adrian Cadwallader CJ, a member of the Josephites. The Josephites were founded in 1817 for the Christian education of young people. They seek to inculcate the Good News of Jesus and the values of gentleness, compassion and right living in those they educate, together with a true spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation.

I have no doubt at all that you will make Fr Adrian very welcome indeed. There will, of course, be a retiring collection after all Masses.

As Catholics we are 'obliged' and privileged to be at Mass every Sunday; and when we are away this adds an extra dimension to this privilege ~ for everywhere we go there is going to be a Catholic church we can attend.

Certainly what we find may be very different to what we are used to, but such variety reminds us of the universal nature of the Mass and what it means to be a member of a church that is truly "Catholic."

Finally, I would just like to say a quick word of thanks to the team who made last Saturday evening's Bar-B-Q the success it was. The weather was fine, the food delicious, a good time was had by all and over 500 was raised. Over 100 people came along and I hope many new friendships were formed. Thank you for a truly wonderful evening.

God Bless.
