The Year of Faith

THE LORD GATHERS A PEOPLE TO HIMSELF
Today as sons and daughters of God, we submit
ourselves to his loving discipline, remembering
that it was not just the Jews, nor will it be just
Christians, whom the Lord will gather to Himself.

My Dear Friends,

Holidays are great fun, but let's be honest it's always good to get back home! I've had a great break and it is, above all Fr Williams whom I have to thank for that, but I am also very grateful to the many members of our parish family who have reached out to him with generosity and affection. Next weekend Father will be going back to Belgium to continue his studies and we wish him well with those. Thank you Father for all you have done for our community, we look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.

Sadly the 'take-up' for the Altar Servers trip to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham has been very poor, and as a result we have had to cancel the trip.

Finally next weekend Dr Seamus O'Brien from the Catholic charity - Aid to the Church in Need - will be with us to speak of their work. They work closely with bishops, priests and Sisters - and their faithful - in more than 130 countries, especially where there is hardship and persecution, and thus are able to get the latest facts and human stories of faith and courage - and the hard, often unpalatable reality about the suffering Church today. Last year alone they sent 77 million to help persecuted Christians throughout the world.

God Bless.

A WEEK OF ACCOMPANIED PRAYER - 22nd - 28th September

Please help yourself!.
