My Dear Friends,

Today we celebrate our 'feast of title', and give thanks to Almighty God for the life and example of St. Gregory the Great, and it is a particular joy to welcome Fr Williams Aso who is visiting the parish for a few days. He will be resident in the Presbytery for a number of days before he returns to Belgium to continue his studies. Please do not hesitate to offer him some hospitality, which I feel sure he would enjoy. Furthermore as we hope that he will be a regular visitor this is an excellent way for him to get to know us.

This is a great day for our community. May we continue to witness joyfully to our faith and so bring others to love and worship the Lord Jesus Christ.

These are difficult days financially for many of us and we must look prayerfully at how we support and maintain the Family of God and its witness here at St Greg's. I know we will discuss this at some length over the next few weeks and I would ask you to place this issue at the forefront of your prayers.

And finally many, many thanks to all those who have worked so hard to prepare for this day of celebration, let's make it a truly holy and happy one.

God Bless.
