CHRIST OUR WEALTH

Even though we had nothing in this world that we could
call our own, in having Christ, the wisdom of God,
we possess all things; we are rich in him. He is the
word of God that is alive and active in our hearts.

My Dear Friends,

Last Thursday evening saw the launch of the Year of Faith at Westminster Cathedral, and what a wonderful evening it was. The cathedral was packed to the doors and some 120+ priests with three of our Auxiliary Bishops concelebrated the Mass.

Bishop John Arnold reminded us in his homily, that we are all to be Ambassadors for Christ and that this year is our opportunity to become just that; joyful in our witness so that others may wish to be Christ's disciples.

I have to say, on a purely personal note, that I was really 'chuffed' to see a number of our parishioners there! I do hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I did?

Finally, the month of November is devoted to the Holy Souls, and as always there will be an opportunity for us to pray for our loved ones. Special envelopes and prayer sheets are to be found in the porch. Please return them with your offerings for the Masses to the Presbytery as soon as possible. This will allow Gillian to prepare the lists well in advance - thank you.

God Bless.

CONFIRMATION 2013

Those wishing to make their Confirmation next year and who are now in Year 9 at school are invited to collect a form from Fr. Dennis after Mass. Please note that only the candidates themselves may pick up a form and applications will NOT be accepted after 30th October.

THE SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION OF UNBORN CHILDREN (SPUC)

are holding a membership appeal this weekend. Every year in Britain 200,000 unborn babies die under the Abortion Act. SPUC's work is to protect unborn children and their mothers from abortion and joining the Society is an excellent way to express your solidarity with the unborn child.
