CHRIST THE SUFFERING SERVANT

Today we celebrate the Christ who gives meaning to all human
suffering. By taking on himself the role of a servant and redeeming
us by his sufferings, he has turned all our human values
upside down. It is the weak who have become strong.

My Dear Friends,

As we go forward into the Year of Faith I am looking forward to meeting, very soon, with those members of our community who have asked to be part of the 'planning team'. However after prayerful reflection I do want to let you know that there is going to be a monthly Holy Hour which I hope you will support.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed and there will be a "conducted" time of prayer and meditation ending with Benediction. I am keen that as many of us as possible can be there so would be glad of some suggestions as to time and day. Please let me know so that we may use the time well.

This weekend is Mission Sunday, and is our opportunity to help those who spread the Gospel as missionaries around the world. There will be a retiring collection for this important work after all Masses.

Finally, as in former years I am looking to run a series of talks for those adults who are thinking about becoming a Catholic. These talks are also for anyone who did not make their Confirmation at the traditional time. The first "get together" will be on Sunday 11th November at 3 pm. Do just come along.

God Bless.

CONFIRMATION 2013

Those wishing to make their Confirmation next year and who are now in Year 9 at school are invited to collect a form from Fr. Dennis after Mass. Please note that only the candidates themselves may pick up a form and applications will NOT be accepted after 30th October.

NOVEMBER DEAD LIST

November is the month devoted to prayer for the Holy Souls. There are envelopes and prayer lists in the porch for your use. Please return them with your offerings for these Masses as soon as possible to the Presbytery.
