The People of Nazareth threaten Jesus

THE CHURCH AS PROPHET OF GOD

We are privileged to be called by God to be his prophets;
to take his words on our lips and proclaim them to the world.
But the gift of prophecy is of no avail without the gift of love;
a Christ-like love of the world which is proof even
against the world's rejection of sin.

My Dear Friends,

I wish to draw your attention to two special events in honour of Our Lady that are taking place this week. Next Saturday there will be a special Mass in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes at Westminster cathedral at 2 pm., during which the Sacrament of the Sick will be administered. There is also an "all night vigil" at St John's Wood church in honour of Our Lady. More details for both of these events can be found in the church porch.

The traditional Blessing of Throats will be offered at the end of Mass on Sunday, the feast day of St Blaise.

Finally, and for the last time, I remind you of the Archbishops' invitation to those celebrating a special wedding anniversary this year, to join him at the cathedral on 18th May for a Mass of Thanksgiving. If you want to go let us know, so that we may apply for tickets on your behalf; if you already have, be assured that your details have been sent on!

Finally please note that Lent is just around the corner and with this in mind the "Walk With Me" devotional prayer books are on sale in the porch for just 1. Buy your copy today!

God Bless.
