My Dear Friends,
There are still a number of the special Christmas cards available in the porch this weekend with all the Mass times for Christmas, and equally importantly they list the times of Confession before the feast as well.
The day after Christmas Day is St Stephen's Day - the patron saint of altar servers, the day when those who have been training to become altar servers are enrolled. There is just one candidate to be enrolled this year, but please do come and support our altar servers and join us for a cup of coffee and a mince pie (if you can face just one more!) after the Mass of St Stephen on Boxing Day morning.
Sadly I have not been able to sort out a meeting with those of you who were kind enough to register an interest re-The Year of Faith. Time has been against me these last few weeks I'm afraid, but I hope to get on top of this in the New Year - promise!! Keep your eye on the Newsletter.
My prayer for us all at this time of year is that we may all have a truly holy and blessed Christmas, and that we may welcome the Christ child into our hearts and homes.
"May Christ be the unseen guest at your table."
THE GIVING TREE
Is once again being wonderfully supported. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. Special thanks to Theresa Sullivan and her team for their work in collecting and distributing the mountain of gifts. Please be sure to bring in any gifts you still have at home, this weekend.
Many thanks to the Knights of St Columba for providing us with the delightful Christmas posters for us to display in our homes. If you haven't got one. Please take one as you leave.
