The Year of Faith

THE LORD WILL BE OUR SHEPHERD
We offer in sacrifice the Lamb who takes
away the sins of the world. He who was
slain is now Shepherd. He will lead to
living water all who do not reject him.

My Dear Friends,

The annual collection for the "Priest Training Fund" was taken up last weekend, and as always all the money we collected will be used to fund the training of our new priests. The final total is not yet in but, as always, you have been wonderfully generous - thank you!

Once again I have been asked to draw your attention (and am very happy to do so!) to the St John Bosco Centre "summer camps" which are held every summer and are for boys between 8 - 13 and girls 9 - 12. They offer a one week camping holiday with an enormous range of activities, such as mountain biking, boating, fishing, climbing, swimming, art, etc. all for 140!!

A number of our parish families have very happy memories of wonderful times spent on these holidays and certainly they're great value for money! There's a poster with more details in the porch and Gillian and I have booking forms in the presbytery.

Finally, on Saturday there will be a retreat day at Mount Street Jesuit Centre for men (aged 18+) who are discerning a possible calling to the diocesan priesthood or religious life. For more information and to register contact Fr Richard at richardnesbitt@rcdow.org.uk

God Bless.
