My Dear Friends,

The Chair of Peter stands empty and the Pope Emeritus has taken up temporary residence in Castel Gandolfo. On Saturday 1st March, the first day of the Sede Vacante ("the empty chair") Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Dean of the College of Cardinals, summoned the cardinals to the first General Congregation, as provided for by the Apostolic Constitution "Universi dominici gregis".

This first General Congregation will take place on Monday at 9:30 am in the Paul VI Aula, the Synod of Bishops' hall, a second General Congregation is also scheduled for 5 pm. These first meetings will determine when the solemn conclave will begin. Let us pray for those who seek, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to find us a new Holy Father.

Next Sunday is "Mothering Sunday" - the day on which we give thanks to Almighty God for our three 'mothers'! Our own dear mum, our mother the Church, and our Blessed Lady, Mary the Mother of God, and Mother of us all. Let us not forget to honour all of them on this, their special day.

God Bless.

BAPTISM PREPARATION

The next baptism preparation class is at 8pm Monday 11th March. If you hope to attend, please contact Gillian at the Presbytery to book as these classes are by appointment only.
