HABEMUS PAPAM
POPE FRANCIS

THE LORD WHO HAS WIPED OUT OUR PAST SINFULNESS

The utter completeness of Christ's forgiveness is almost
incredible. When he says to us "Neither do I condemn you,"
the past is dead, forgotten. Laughter and song fill our hearts.
It seems like a dream!

My Dear Friends,

"Habemus Papam" We have a Pope! We have a Holy Father, Pope Francis. His election may have taken many of us by surprise, including me; but the more we learn about him, the more it becomes clear that his election is an inspired one. At the very beginning of his papacy, Pope Francis humbly asked that we pray for him, so let us do just that, let us join in prayer for our Holy Father: May the Lord protect him and grant him length of days. May the Lord be his shield and deliver him from all harm. May the Lord grant him happiness and peace all the days of his life. Amen.

The season of Lent now enters its most solemn stage - Passiontide. We focus our prayers on the altar, where each time Mass is offered, the Sacrifice of the Cross is renewed, and the saving action of Christ's death is brought afresh into the present.

As we do each year there will be the opportunity for us to remember our loved ones at the altar of repose on Maundy Thursday through our "Lilies for Remembrance". Please write the names on the slips of paper provided and please also consider taking an envelope for your donation to the flower fund. Flowers are wickedly expensive and this is a special way to help decorate the church for Easter!

God Bless.
