The Year of Faith

GLORY BE TO THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

My Dear Friends,

Next weekend brings to an end, for this year at least, the Catechetical programmes in our parish. Please do take a moment to remember before Almighty God the youngsters of our community who will have received their First Holy Communion or are about to make their adult declaration of faith through Confirmation. Let us pray that they may stay close to Jesus throughout their lives and be helped in their faith by our witness, support and love.

As mentioned in last week's newsletter Fr Evaristus, a priest of the Holy Ghost Fathers is in residence at the presbytery this weekend, and he is here for the annual mission appeal of "the Spiritans." I am sure we shall make him very welcome.

A couple of weeks ago I said how amazed I was at the amount of lost property we accumulate, especially as so much of it appears to be valuable. The rail has now been up in the hall for three weeks and the clothes will now be disposed of. This weekend is the last chance to take a look!

Finally, as most of you know, I am away conducting a wedding this weekend and I am very grateful to Fr Evaristus and Fr Tim for seeing that our regular parish schedule of Masses is unaffected. Thank you Fathers!

God Bless.
